Pre-launch privacy scope

ShopNlinq is still in development. This policy covers the current corporate website and contact channels and explains the information practices expected to apply when relevant ShopNlinq features become available. We will update it when production features or providers change.

1. Scope and responsibility

Shoplink Technologies develops and operates ShopNlinq. ShopNlinq is a social-commerce product of Shoplink Technologies, not a separate company or legal entity. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Shoplink Technologies.

This policy applies to information handled through the Shoplink Technologies website, enquiries sent to us, and ShopNlinq when its relevant features become available. Some sections describe anticipated processing for a product that has not yet publicly launched. Actual processing must remain limited to the features and providers enabled in production.

2. Information we may handle

The information involved depends on how a person uses the website or ShopNlinq. Where applicable, it may include:

  • Account and contact information, such as a name, email address, telephone number, business name, profile details and account identifier.
  • Store and product information, including store branding, business contact details, product names, descriptions, images, prices and availability supplied by a seller.
  • Authentication and security information, such as sign-in records, authentication tokens and account-protection information.
  • Order-related communications or records, such as selected products, quantities, contact details, merchant details, messages and order status where a workflow stores or transmits them.
  • Subscription information, such as ShopNlinq Pro plan, billing status, payment reference and related records. A payment provider may collect payment details directly under its own privacy terms.
  • Uploaded content, such as product images, store materials and other content a user chooses to submit.
  • Device and technical information, such as IP address, browser or device type, access time, diagnostics, security events and server logs.
  • Support and enquiry information, including emails, WhatsApp messages and information supplied in a request for help.

3. How information may be collected

Information may come directly from a person who contacts us or uses a ShopNlinq feature; from a merchant or customer involved in an interaction; automatically from hosting, authentication, database, security and technical systems; or from a necessary service provider confirming the status of an applicable subscription transaction.

Where someone provides information about another person, they should have a lawful reason and provide only what is needed for the relevant purpose.

4. How and why we may use information

Subject to the features actually made available, we may use information to:

  • create, authenticate, maintain and protect ShopNlinq accounts;
  • provide storefront, catalogue and store-management features;
  • help customers discover products and contact merchants;
  • support order enquiries and merchant-customer communications;
  • administer ShopNlinq Pro subscriptions and related billing records;
  • answer enquiries and provide product support;
  • diagnose faults, secure the service, prevent misuse and improve reliability; and
  • meet applicable legal, regulatory, accounting or record-keeping duties.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, processing may be based on consent, steps requested before or during a service relationship, performance of an agreement, a legal obligation, or a legitimate operational or security interest that does not improperly override an individual’s rights.

5. Orders, transactions and WhatsApp

ShopNlinq is being developed to facilitate product discovery, merchant-customer communication and WhatsApp-based ordering. A workflow may use contact details, product selections, quantities and related communications so a customer and merchant can discuss an order.

Shoplink Technologies does not currently process, hold, settle or guarantee buyer-to-merchant payments. Customers and merchants remain responsible for confirming payment, fulfilment, delivery, returns and other transaction details with each other. Paystack’s anticipated role is limited to ShopNlinq Pro subscription payments.

When a person chooses a WhatsApp link or workflow, Meta and WhatsApp process information under their own terms and privacy policies. This may include a telephone number, profile information, message content and order details the person chooses to share. Only information needed for the conversation or order should be sent.

6. Service providers and other disclosures

Information may be made available only as reasonably needed to operate, secure and support the relevant service, including to:

  • Google/Firebase, if enabled in production, for authentication, databases, file storage and related infrastructure;
  • Meta/WhatsApp when a person chooses a WhatsApp communication or ordering workflow;
  • Paystack, if ShopNlinq Pro billing is enabled, for ShopNlinq Pro subscription payments only—not buyer-to-merchant payments;
  • hosting, security and technical providers supporting the website or ShopNlinq;
  • the relevant merchant or customer where needed for a requested enquiry or order workflow;
  • professional advisers and authorities where advice, protection or disclosure is reasonably required or permitted by law.

No delivery-provider integration is currently available. If one is introduced later, we will update this policy before the related processing begins.

7. Cookies and analytics

At the effective date, this static corporate website includes no analytics scripts, advertising pixels or marketing cookies, and its code does not set cookies for those purposes. A hosting or security provider may create routine server or security logs when the site is requested.

ShopNlinq may require technically necessary browser storage for authentication, security or preferences when it becomes available. We will update this notice to match the technology actually deployed before analytics, advertising or non-essential cookies are added.

8. Retention and security

There is no single fixed retention period for every category. Information should be kept only for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, account and transaction records, dispute resolution, service protection, and applicable legal or regulatory duties. When no longer required, it should be deleted, anonymised or securely isolated as appropriate; limited residual copies may remain in protected backups or where law requires retention.

Shoplink Technologies intends to use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and service. No website, application, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their credentials and report suspected unauthorised access promptly.

9. International processing

Some third-party infrastructure or support services may process or store information outside Ghana. The countries and providers involved will depend on the final production configuration. Where international processing occurs, Shoplink Technologies will assess the arrangement and use protections appropriate to the information, provider and applicable law. Laws in another country may differ from those in Ghana.

10. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, a person may have rights to ask about and access their information; request correction; request deletion or blocking where legal conditions are met; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where consent is the basis; and object to direct marketing.

To make a request, email info@shoplinktechnologies.com and describe the information or processing concerned. We may need to verify identity and authority. A request may be limited where applicable law permits or requires, and some records may need to be retained for lawful purposes.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as ShopNlinq’s production features, providers and legal obligations are confirmed or change. The current version will show its effective and last-updated dates. Where a change materially affects how information is handled, an additional notice should be provided when reasonably practicable or required by law.
